Market stalls

Rocco and I have had a blast taking our (literally) star-studded book stall to some of the many vibrant markets held across central Scotland.

All are positively brimming with beautiful things made by lovely people, and it feels great to be a part of it all. Although, as you can see, the hamster and I can never quite agree who should get to sign the books...

It's always special to meet new readers, so thanks to everyone who's stopped by, said hi, and bought a copy of the book!

Renton Primary!

19th November 2019

Huge thanks to the P6/7 class at Renton Primary School and Language Unit for giving me such a warm welcome during my author visit!

It was great to see so much enthusiasm for Hamster Gangster, and I hope everyone will go on to write lots of stories of their own.

The LanguageHub!

26th October 2019

A fun afternoon at The Language Hub in Glasgow, where I was delighted to do an author event in the newly opened library. I read extracts from Hamster Gangster, talked about the ingredients that go into writing a novel, and wheeled out my sketches of the characters.

Thanks to everyone who came along, took part, and didn't laugh at my sketches.

Meet the Author!

19th September 2019

Special thanks to everyone who came along to this Meet the Author event at Fruin Farm, Helensburgh. An interview, readings from Hamster Gangster and audience Q&A were followed by a book signing and delicious lunch. It really is a stunning venue. And there are llamas.

Children's book festival!

9th August 2019

It was a real pleasure introducing Hamster Gangster to some enthusiastic new readers at a children's book festival event in Govanhill, Glasgow, during the Govanhill International Festival and Carnival. We enjoyed a great round of readings, chat and lovely coffee in the wonderfully quirky Bee's Knees Cafe.

Book launch!

15th June 2019

The official HAMSTER GANGSTER BOOK LAUNCH happened at Waterstones Stirling on Saturday 15th June. We had a fun afternoon reading extracts, chatting and signing books. Somehow, not even my croaky sore throat got in the way.

Sustenance was provided courtesy of Rocco and the gang, who pilfered a selection of cakes, biccies and soda from their favourite restaurant kitchen, Chef Claude's, right after posing for my quirky (okay then, amateurish) portraits (see sketch pad).

The show of support was amazing - special thanks to everyone who came along and made the afternoon a success.

First school visit!

26th April 2019

Big thanks to the P5 class at Balfron Primary School for welcoming me into their classroom for my first-ever school visit!

I talked about Hamster Gangster and tips on storytelling, read a chapter and answered lots of great questions from a super-enthusiastic crowd. Then I signed my name until my hand hurt, and I've never been so grateful to feel my hand hurt.
